On La Palma, crosses and roads are never far apart. In this case, we are talking about the hiking path GR 131 and the Cruz del Time, which is linked to a legend. It is said that a mother walked here at night, holding a child in her arms.
A gust of wind, followed by a rain shower, extinguished the lantern she was carrying. In despair, she used the wood of the cross to make a fire. When, a short time after, she returned to place a new cross in its place, she found the cross still standing in its place, now illuminated as if on fire.

She heard a soft, sweet voice saying: “Go in peace, you have kept your promise.” Since that moment, sometimes strange lights can be seen here at night.
